Although not necessarily visible from non-beta installations, there was a lot of work going into the P44 platform in 2025 that will soon reach production status and bring exciting new possibilities to existing and new P44 devices!

The core focus of plan44 are efficiently maintainable, long-term functioning installations. The P44 platform was designed from the start to just run for years, with no external dependencies, while always remaining maintainable. So while new device hardware is at the horizon, this does not leave existing devices behind - on the contrary. New features will come to most installed devices, even many of those already running for a decade. Open Source is the key to guarantee this remains also true for the future, as it makes long-term platform progress even independent of plan44. Infrastructure needs to be open knowledge!

What’s new from 2025

What have we been working at in 2025? Those of you using beta software already know more - and a special thanks goes to you, because beta testing is an important contribution to the quality of the platform! Still, some things were only hints in the release notes, so here's the summary:

• matter certification is well underway - our devices are at the testing lab right now! Completion is expected in Q1 2026. The certification is a challenge for a small company, so it takes longer than anticipated. On the other hand, continuing beta testing in 2025 has allowed to support matter 1.4 already and further mature the plan44 matter bridge.
• Wiser-by-Feller integration is an all new way to extend existing installations or build new ones. This simple to install system by Feller AG, renowned for top design and quality switches and wall sockets, can now be fully integrated into matter (and likewise, into an existing Digital Strom installation).
• Extended matter support for classic Digital Strom: the new ds485 integration allows DS blocks to finally become matter accessible devices, like P44 based DALI and EnOcean devices.
• Improvements for project specific scripting for complex, but still easily maintainable custom setups.

All of this will come to existing P44-DSB-DEH2/E2/D/E/X devices (and already has in betas).

Looking ahead to 2026

In parallel, we’ve been preparing new hardware for the future:

• new gateway-only P44 device - a tiny, but powerful box to enable Wiser-by-Feller for matter with only a few keypresses on the device itself. Not even the need to connect a laptop (but of course, still supported). Also, it allows bridging Digital Strom to matter.
• next generation device replacing P44-DSB-D with updated system-on-chip and more memory.

So, stay tuned for 2026, it will be an exciting year.

Installing the new firmware 2.8.1 is generally recommended, even on devices without DALI – because, as always, it also contains a number of general improvements. Details can be found in the release notes.

The bug in 2.8.0 can only have an effect when installing and commissioning new DALI devices if the functions for readdressing are used in case of DALI address conflicts. Existing DALI lighting systems are not affected, there is no urgency to install the new firmware for customers as long as no changes are made to the connected DALI devices.

However, if problems occur, you should always check (not only in this case, but also in general) whether a newer firmware is available. This also applies immediately after the installation of a P44 device. In this context, we would also like to draw your attention once again to the detailed installation and support documentation.

But now I hope that you will have as few problems as possible with your P44-xx installations, thank you for your loyalty to the P44 products, and wish you happy holidays and a good start into the New Year!

In particular, the new firmware features two new "bridging" device types allowing better integration between Digital Strom and matter. For the first time, "briding" devices are now available in the standalone P44-LC as well:

• scene responder bridge: monitors scene calls in a room or at the appartment level and forwards the status to matter as a virtual contact sensor. This allows to set up matter-side automations based on scene calls in Digital Strom or P44-LC.
• scene caller bridge: can call (and undo) a specific scene based on a matter-side virtual on-off switch. Giving the virtual switch an appropriate name, this allows calling specific scenes by voice or home apps.

Under the hood, the matter bridge (beta) has been updated to use matter 1.3 and profits from the stability and other improvements in that release.

Whether you use a P44-DSB for Digital Strom integration, or a P44-LC/AC as a small, efficient smart home/room/office standalone solution - the update to 2.8.0/1.8.0 is recommended as it also fixes some bugs.

P44-DSB-DEH2/E2/E Firmware 2.7 now released!

The new firmware brings many improvements and two major new features for the tried-and-tested DALI/EnOcean/hue Digital Strom-Bridges P44-DSB-DEH2/E2/E/X: matter (beta) integration and much more convenient script programming thanks to a built-in development environment with debugger. Details can be found in the release notes.

With matter, the days when a single system had to cover all SmartHome needs are over. From now on, different systems can contribute their strengths!

A Digital Strom base installation is not matter-capable itself, but with the matter-Bridge (beta) in the P44-DSB firmware 2.7 it is possible not only to see all DALI luminaires, EnOcean relays etc. directly in matter, but even to make pure Digital Strom room states accessible. What's new in the 2.7.x betas?

Of course, the matter bridge functionality which allows bridging P44-xx hosted devices (DALI, EnOcean, hue, SmartLED, GPIOs, HTTP API-integrated third party devices etc.) into a matter-enabled smarthome system. For more information about this, see details here.

Second: The new p44script IDE (integrated development environment) which makes creating and testing scripts easier than ever:

• a script editor with multiple tabs gives instant access and overview over all scripts in a P44 device.
• a resizable panel shows a live refreshed view of the device log.
• a console allows executing p44script statements interactively in the context of any script.
• a built-in debugger with breakpoints, single step, multiple threads and inspection makes testing and finding problems in scripts much simpler than before.
• a short reference describes p44script features and available functions

Fully integrated - no external dependencies - long time reliable

What makes the p44script IDE special is that it is, like all other functionality of the P44 device, fully embedded in the device itself. It does not depend on any external tools or services, not even internet connection - the only thing you need to use it is a web browser.

This makes P44 devices safe for use in professional projects that need to run for decades and stay maintainable. At any point in time you can be confident you'll be able to inspect and adjust settings and scripts - because everything you need for that is on the device itself. The entire configuration including all scripting can be backed up as a single file, and restored to the same or a new device in its entiety.

Experimenting and learning

On the other hand, p44script and SmartLEDs are a good tool to learn programming and experiment with various DIY hardware - that's why the free P44-DSB-X and P44-LC-X images for RaspberryPi exist.

Grab a RPi (those old B+ are fine for that..) and some WS281x LEDs and make a atmospheric light in the holiday - which will seamlessly integrate into your Digital Strom and/or matter SmartHome, exactly like the commercial P44 devices. If you have questions or need help - be it professional or fun project, just ask in the plan44 forum.

Last minute shopping

Or, if you don't like DIY, but would still like the LED torch - there are still a few ready to buy (CH delivery addresses only) in the plan44-shop!

Since on both sides the interfaces to the respective systems were already future-proof and modularly designed, the Matter connection can now be elegantly implemented in a joint open source project based on the plan44 Matter Bridge application.

In this way, the concrete experiences of plan44 with the Matter SDK and the beta test with the Matter connection of the P44 products, which has already been running for several months, are efficiently combined with the abilities of a larger company in the area of organisation and implementation of certification.

Work on the joint project is already in full progress, and it is foreseeable that certification can be carried out in a few months already. In the meantime, the Matter beta software for the P44 devices will of course be continuously improved and will continue to be available to interested plan44 customers.

Despite the variety of possible devices, the integration of DALI+EnOcean devices with P44-DSB/P44-LC is generally quite simple and works with little configuration.

Nevertheless, there is no such thing as technology without problems, and especially with DALI there are very different DALI drivers that require a little more care depending on the situation, to ensure that everything works properly.

To make sure that installations and support cases can be solved as quickly and well as possible, there has been a detailed section on installation and support in the Technical Documentation since the end of 2022.

You will find a lot of help and answers to questions that sometimes arise during installation, commissioning and maintenance, e.g.

I am also happy to receive tips from the field on what is perhaps still missing or should be described better. Otherwise, I hope this documentation helps you with new and existing projects with P44-DSB and P44-LC devices!

Many things will be exciting in 2023 - certainly including seeing where the text and image AIs that became widely available at the end of 2022 will take us. The image for this text, for example, was created by Midjourney with the prompt "The future and power of open source standards, abstract, geometric, calm, clean smart tech look, many joyful colours ".

For the SmartHome, 2023 will be exciting to see the adoption of matter. Although this new standard was already published in October 2022 and many manufacturers have shown or announced devices, there is still very little on the market.

So there were probably hardly any matter gadgets under the tree, even for smart home fans...

But if you have a P44-DSB or P44-LC, you can already try it out now as a beta. Or if you like to do some tinkering over the holidays, likewise - the do-it-yourself LED torch from last year or other LED setups become a matter bridge with the new beta SD card image for P44-DSB-X or P44-LC-X standalone controller. With this, you can already say "Hey Siri, switch on the torch", and much more, see Youtube-Video...

Soon in 2023, however, things should really get going with matter, when many of the announced products and updates actually become available.

For the installation industry, matter opens up above all a new long-term opportunity: Smarthome-capable infrastructure!

Because matter is to the smarthome what the power socket was to electrification 100 years ago - a standard so that the building-side infrastructure can be connected to (and disconnected from) the customer-side devices in a simple way.

If matter-enabled devices (such as P44-LC-DE) are installed in a fixed installation, the future users can determine the mobile part of the smarthome themselves and bring it along with them. Whether they prefer to use Alexa or Siri, have chosen iPhones or Android, Apple or Samsung, or even use a combination of everything - it no longer makes any difference.

What also makes matter special: the software is open source. Not only big companies, but also small ones like plan44 can join in (there are still problems in the area of certification, which will hopefully get more attention in 2023).

In this sense - a happy new year - in which we will hopefully see a lot of the illustrative "future and power of open source standards", not only in the SmartHome!

The questions revolve around technology and product development, but also in particular around the certification of matter devices developed in micro companies and/or arising from open source projects.

What it is all about and what it means for users of P44-DSB and P44-LC devices is explained on the new matter page at plan44.ch/matter

In the "Tutorial" section of the plan44 TechDoku there are now two new directly applicable examples for this:

The tutorial section is part of the "plan44 tech docs", where you can find a lot of advanced information about the P44-DSB and P44-LC devices, especially about the possibilities offered by the built-in scripting language 'p44script'.

The instructions for building the "Torch" explain step by step with pictures and videos how to build the decorative "Torch" - but also show the basics of working with SmartLEDs and P44-LC/DSB, which can also be used for other projects.

Auch wenn dies bei Nicht-Beta-Installationen nicht unbedingt sichtbar ist, wurde im Jahr 2025 viel Arbeit in die P44-Plattform investiert, die bald den Produktionsstatus erreichen und spannende neue Möglichkeiten für bestehende und neue P44-Geräte bieten wird.

Der Schwerpunkt von plan44 liegt auf effizient wartbaren, langlebigen Installationen. Die P44-Plattform wurde von Anfang an so konzipiert, dass sie viele Jahre ohne externe Abhängigkeiten läuft und dabei stets wartbar bleibt. Auch wenn neue Hardware am Horizont ist, bleiben ältere Geräte nicht auf der Strecke – ganz im Gegenteil. Neue Funktionen werden für die meisten installierten Geräte verfügbar sein, sogar für viele, die bereits seit einem Jahrzehnt im Einsatz sind. Open Source ist der Schlüssel, um sicherzustellen, dass dies auch in Zukunft so bleibt, da es den langfristigen Fortschritt der Plattform sogar unabhängig von plan44 macht. Infrastruktur muss offenes Wissen sein!

Neues aus dem Jahr 2025

Woran haben wir im Jahr 2025 gearbeitet? Diejenigen unter Ihnen, die Beta-Software verwenden, wissen bereits mehr – und ein besonderer Dank geht an Sie, denn Beta-Tests sind ein wichtiger Beitrag zur Qualität der Plattform! Dennoch waren einige Dinge nur Andeutungen in den Release Notes, daher hier die Zusammenfassung:

• Die Matter-Zertifizierung ist gut unterwegs, mit P44-Geräten dieser Tage im Testlabor! Sie sollte im ersten Quartal 2026 abgeschlossen sein. Die Zertifizierung ist für ein kleines Unternehmen eine Herausforderung, daher dauert sie länger als anfangs erwartet. Andererseits konnten wir durch die Fortsetzung der Beta-Tests im Jahr 2025 bereits Matter 1.4 unterstützen und die plan44 Matter Bridge weiter ausreifen.
• Die Wiser-by-Feller-Integration bietet eine ganz neue Möglichkeit, bestehende Installationen zu erweitern oder neue zu erstellen. Dieses einfach zu installierende System der Feller AG, bekannt für hochwertige Schalter und Steckdosen in top Design, kann nun vollständig in Matter integriert werden (und ebenso in eine bestehende Digital Strom-Installation).
• Erweiterte Matter-Unterstützung für klassisches Digital Strom: Durch die neue ds485-Integration werden DS-Klemmen endlich zu Matter-zugänglichen Geräten, wie die P44-basierten DALI- und EnOcean-Geräte.
• Verbesserungen für projektspezifische Skripte für komplexe, aber dennoch leicht zu wartende kundenspezifische Konfigurationen.

All dies wird für bestehende P44-DSB-DEH2/E2/D/E/X-Geräte verfügbar sein (und ist bereits in Betaversionen enthalten).

Ausblick auf 2026

Parallel dazu gab es auch Vorbereitungen für neue Hardware:

• Ein neues reines Gateway-P44-Gerät – eine kleine, aber leistungsstarke Box, mit der Wiser-by-Feller für Matter mit nur wenigen Tastendrücken auf dem Gerät selbst aktiviert werden kann. Es ist nicht einmal notwendig, einen Laptop anzuschliessen (was natürlich weiterhin unterstützt wird). Ausserdem ermöglicht es die Verbindung von Digital Strom mit Matter.
• Nachfolge-Gerät für die P44-DSB-D mit aktualisiertem System-on-Chip und mehr Speicher.

Seien Sie also gespannt auf 2026, es wird ein aufregendes Jahr werden.

Die Installation der neuen Firmware 2.8.1 ist generell emfohlen, auch auf Geräten ohne DALI - denn wie immer enthält sie auch eine Reihe von generellen Verbesserungen. Details dazu finden Sie in den Release-Notes.

Der Fehler in 2.8.0 kann sich aber ausschliesslich bei der Installation und Inbetriebnahme neuer DALI-Geräte auswirken, wenn die Funktionen zur Neuadressierung bei DALI-Adresskonflikten verwendet werden. Bestehende DALI-Beleuchtungen sind nicht betroffen, es besteht keine Dringlichkeit die neue Firmware bei Kunden einzuspielen, solange keine Veränderung an den angeschlossenen DALI-Geräten vorgenommen wird.

Beim Auftreten von Problemen sollte aber (nicht nur in diesem Fall, sondern auch generell) jeweils überprüft werden, ob eine neuere Firmware verfügbar ist, ebenso unmittelbar nach der Inbetriebnahme eines P44-Geräts. In diesem Zusammenhang sei auch auf die ausführliche Installations- und Supportdokumentation hingewiesen.

Aber jetzt hoffe ich, dass Sie mit ihren P44-xx-Installationen möglichst wenig Probleme haben, bedanke mich bei Ihnen für Ihre Treue zu den P44-Produkten, und wünsche schöne Festtage und einen guten Start ins Neue Jahr!

Insbesondere bietet die neue Firmware zwei neue Bridging-Gerätetypen, die eine bessere Integration zwischen Digital Strom und Matter ermöglichen. Zum ersten Mal sind Bridging-Geräte jetzt auch im eigenständigen P44-LC verfügbar:

• Scene Responder Bridge: Überwacht Szenenaufrufe in einem Raum oder auf Wohnungsebene und leitet den Status als virtuellen Kontaktsensor an Matter weiter. Dadurch können matter-seitige Automatisierungen basierend auf Szenenaufrufen in Digital Strom oder P44-LC eingerichtet werden.
• Scene Caller Bridge: Kann eine bestimmte Szene basierend auf einem matter-seitigen virtuellen Ein-/Aus-Schalter aufrufen (und rückgängig machen). Wenn Sie dem virtuellen Schalter einen entsprechenden Namen geben, können Sie gezielt Szenen per Sprache oder über Home-Apps aufrufen.

Unter der Haube wurde die Matter Bridge (Beta) aktualisiert, um Matter 1.3 zu verwenden, und profitiert von der Stabilität und anderen Verbesserungen in dieser Version.

Ob Sie nun einen P44-DSB für die Integration von Digital Strom oder einen P44-LC/AC als kleine, effiziente Standalone-Lösung für Smart Home/Zimmer/Büro verwenden – das Update auf 2.8.0/1.8.0 ist empfehlenswert, da es auch einige Fehler behebt.

Was ist neu in den 2.7.x Betas?

Natürlich die Matter-Bridge-Funktionalität, die es ermöglicht, P44-xx gehostete Geräte (DALI, EnOcean, hue, SmartLED, GPIOs, HTTP-API-integrierte Geräte von Drittanbietern usw.) in ein matter-fähiges Smarthome-System zu integrieren. Weitere Informationen dazu sind hier zu finden.

Zweitens: Die neue p44script IDE (integrierte Entwicklungsumgebung), die das Erstellen und Testen von Skripten einfacher denn je macht:

• Ein Skript-Editor mit mehreren Registerkarten bietet sofortigen Zugriff und Überblick über alle Skripte in einem P44-Gerät.
• ein größenveränderbares Panel zeigt eine live refreshed Ansicht des Geräteprotokolls.
• eine Konsole ermöglicht das interaktive Ausführen von p44script-Anweisungen im Kontext eines beliebigen Skripts.

Vollständig integriert - keine externen Abhängigkeiten - langzeitig zuverlässig

Das Besondere an der p44script-IDE ist, dass sie, wie alle anderen Funktionen des P44-Geräts, voll in das Gerät selbst eingebettet ist. Sie ist nicht von externen Werkzeugen oder Diensten abhängig, nicht einmal von einer Internetverbindung - das Einzige, was Sie zur Nutzung benötigen, ist ein Webbrowser.

Das macht P44-Geräte sicher für den Einsatz in professionellen Projekten, die jahrzehntelang laufen und wartbar bleiben müssen. Sie können jederzeit sicher sein, dass Sie Einstellungen und Skripte überprüfen und anpassen können - denn alles, was Sie dafür brauchen, befindet sich auf dem Gerät selbst. Die gesamte Konfiguration einschließlich aller Skripte kann als eine einzige Datei gesichert und auf demselben oder einem neuen Gerät wiederhergestellt werden.

Experimentieren und Lernen

Andererseits sind p44script und SmartLEDs ein gutes Werkzeug, um das Programmieren zu lernen und mit verschiedener DIY-Hardware zu experimentieren - deshalb gibt es auch die kostenlosen P44-DSB-X und P44-LC-X Images für den RaspberryPi.

Schnappen Sie sich einen RPi (die alten B+ eignen sich gut dafür...) und ein paar WS281x LEDs und bauen Sie ein stimmungsvolles Licht in den Ferien - das sich nahtlos in Ihr Digital Strom und/oder matter SmartHome integriert, genau wie die kommerziellen P44 Geräte.

Da auf beiden Seiten die Schnittstellen zu den jeweiligen Systemen bereits zukunftstauglich und modular konzipiert waren, kann die Matter-Anbindung nun in einem gemeinsamen OpenSource-Projekt auf Basis der plan44 Matter Bridge Applikation elegant umgesetzt werden.

Auf diese Weise werden die konkreten Erfahrungen von plan44 mit dem Matter SDK und dem schon einige Monate laufenden Beta-Test mit der Matter-Anbindung der P44-Produkte mit den Möglichkeiten einer grösseren Firma im Bereich Organisation und Durchführung der Zertifizierung effizient kombiniert.

Die Arbeit am gemeinsamen Projekt ist bereits in vollem Gange, es ist abzusehen, dass schon in einigen Monaten die Zertifizierung durchgeführt werden kann. In der Zwischenzeit wird natürlich die Matter-Beta-Software für die P44-Geräte laufend verbessert und steht interessierten plan44 Kund*innen weiterhin zur Verfügung.

Die Integration von DALI+EnOcean-Geräten ist mit P44-DSB/P44-LC trotz der Vielfalt von möglichen Geräten in aller Regel ziemlich einfach und funktioniert mit wenig Konfiguration.

Dennoch, Technik ohne Probleme gibt es nicht, und gerade bei DALI gibt es sehr unterschiedliche DALI-Treiber die je nach Situation etwas mehr Umsicht erfordern, damit alles sauber funktioniert.

Damit Installationen und Supportfälle möglichst schnell und gut gelöst werden können, gibt es seit Ende 2022 in der Technischen Dokumentation einen ausführlichen Abschnitt zu Installation und Support.

Sie finden darin viele Hilfestellungen und Antworten zu Fragen, die bei Installation, Inbetriebnahme und Unterhalt bisweilen auftauchen, z.B.

• Sicheres Vorgehen bei Fehlersuche und bei Ergänzung von bestehenden Anlagen mit DALI

Gerne nehme ich auch Hinweise aus der Praxis entgegen, was vielleicht noch fehlt oder besser beschrieben sein sollte. Ansonsten hoffe ich, diese Dokumentation hilft Ihnen bei neuen und bestehenden Projekten mit P44-DSB und P44-LC-Geräten!

Vieles wird spannend im 2023 - sicher auch zu sehen, wohin uns die Text- und Bilder-KIs führen werden, die Ende 2022 in der Breite zugänglich wurden. Das Bild zu diesem Text etwa hat Midjourney erzeugt, mit der Anweisung "The future and power of open source standards, abstract, geometric, calm, clean smart tech look, many joyful colors"

Für das SmartHome wird 2023 die Verbreitung von matter spannend. Zwar wurde dieser neue Standard schon im Oktober 2022 veröffentlicht, viele Hersteller haben bereits Geräte gezeigt oder angekündigt, aber so richtig auf dem Markt gibt es noch wenig.

Es lagen also vermutlich auch bei Smart-Home-Fans noch kaum matter-Gadgets unter dem Baum...

Aber wer ein P44-DSB oder P44-LC hat, kann das bereits jetzt als Beta ausprobieren. Oder wer über die Festtage etwas Basteln mag, ebenso - die Selbstbau-LED-Fackel von letztem Jahr oder andere LED-Aufbauten werden mit dem neuen Beta-SD-Karten-Image für P44-DSB-X oder P44-LC-X standalone-Controller zur matter-Bridge. Damit geht dann bereits "Hey Siri, schalte die Fackel ein", und einiges mehr, s. Youtube-Video...

Bald im 2023 dürfte es aber mit matter so richtig losgehen, wenn viele der angekündigten Produkte und Updates auch tatsächlich verfügbar werden.

Für die Installationsbranche öffnet sich mit matter vor allem eine längerfristige neue Chance: Smarthome-fähige Infrastruktur!

Denn matter ist für das Smarthome das, was die Steckdose vor 100 Jahren für die Elektrifizierung war - ein Standard, damit die gebäudeseitige Infrastruktur mit den kundenseitigen Gerätschaften auf einfache Weise verbunden (und auch wieder getrennt) werden kann.

Werden in einer Festinstallation matter-fähige Geräte (wie z.B. P44-LC-DE) verbaut, können die späteren Benutzer:innen den mobilen Teil des Smarthomes selber bestimmen und mitbringen. Ob sie nun lieber Alexa oder Siri verwenden, iPhones oder Android, Apple oder Samsung gewählt haben, oder sogar eine Kombination von allem nutzen - das spielt keine Rolle mehr.

Was matter auch besonders macht: die Software ist Open Source. Nicht nur grosse Firmen, sondern auch kleine wie plan44 können mitmachen (im Bereich der Zertifizierung gibt es da allerdings noch Probleme, die im 2023 hoffenlich mehr Beachtung bekommen).

In diesem Sinne - ein gutes neues Jahr - in dem wir nicht nur im SmartHome hoffentlich viel von der bildgebenden "future and power of open source standards" sehen werden!

Die Fragen drehen sich um die Technik und die Produkt-Entwicklung, aber insbesondere auch um die Zertifizierung von matter-Geräten, die in Kleinstfirmen entwickelt werden und/oder aus OpenSource-Projekten heraus entstehen.

• Das neue Produkt P44-DSB-D, ein digitalSTROM-Gateway zur Anbindung von DALI und hue-Leuchten, aber ohne EnOcean (plan44.ch/automation/p44-dsb-d.php) ist nun über die digitalSTROM-Vertriebskanäle erhältlich, genauso wie weiterhin der EnOcean-Gateway P44-DSB-E2. • Um die vielfältigen Möglichkeiten der P44-DSB und P44-LC-Produkte kennenzulernen, gibt es seit 2021 die technische Dokumentation auf https://plan44.ch/p44-techdocs. Hier sind ganz neu zwei interessante, mit allen Farb- oder CW/WW-Leuchten funktionierende Beispiele hinzugekommen: dynamische Farbszenen und automatische Anpassung der Lichfarbe an die Tageszeit. • Für Supportanfragen, aber auch allgemeinen Fragen zu den Möglichkeiten der P44-Geräte, Diskussionen von eigenen Projektideen und Umsetzungen, Anfragen für Tips zu Konfiguration und Programmierung und natürlich auch zum Austausch zwischen Benutzer:innen gibt es seit Anfang Jahr das plan44 Community Forum: https://forum.plan44.ch.

• Die Firmware für alle P44-Produkte, auch für die 8 Jahre alten ersten Geräte, wird laufend weiterentwickelt, damit die Geräte kompatibel bleiben, auch wenn es im Feld Änderungen gibt. Eine solche Änderung hat Philips/Signify für Q2/2022 für die hue-Bridge angekündigt - es wurde die Methode, wie sich die Bridge im Netzwerk verbindet, verändert. Die Ende März erschienene Firmware 2.6.4 ist bereit für diese Änderung, so dass Ihre hue-Installationen nahtlos weiterlaufen. Die Tutorial-Sektion ist ein Teil der "plan44 tech docs", wo es eine Vielzahl von weiterführender Information über die P44-DSB und P44-LC-Geräte gibt, insbesondere zu den Möglichkeiten, welche die eingebaute Scriptsprache p44script bietet.

Die Anleitung zur Bau der "Fackel" erklärt Schritt für Schritt mit Bildern und Videos, wie die dekorative "Fackel" aufgebaut wird - dabei werden aber auch die Grundlagen zum Arbeiten mit SmartLEDs und P44-LC/DSB gezeigt, mit denen auch andere Projekte umgesetzt werden können.
