Improved Version 2 in new enclosure with external antenna (SMA), powered via standard USB-Micro power supply or over ethernet (with separate PPoE kit), more energy efficient.

P44-DSB-E2 extends your digitalSTROM system by third-party buttons, sensors and actuators.

P44-DSB-E2 uses the new digitalSTROM virtual device connector technology to seamlessly integrate new devices such that these become as simple to use as regular digitalSTROM devices.

A single P44-DSB-E2 device connects to many wireless buttons, sensors and actuators and Philips "hue" color LED lights

The P44-DSB-E2 is a cost effective way to extend a digitalSTROM system for climate control (EnOcean), modern color LED lighting (hue), light switches that can be placed everywhere (EnOcean).
It only requires a single P44-DSB-E2 to connect a lot of third party devices that ideally complement digitalSTROM components

The P44-DSB-E2 firmware can be updated via the built-inb web interface to receive support for new devices, new features and general improvements.
The firmware is based on plan44.ch's modular "vdcd" open source project, which allows for custom modifications and extension to be implemented by plan44.ch upon request as well as third parties.

EnOcean - wireless energy harvesting devices

EnOcean is a technology for wireless, usually self powered (energy harvesting) buttons, sensors and actuators.

Adding EnOcean devices is as simple as pressing two buttons - first the learn button in the web interface of the P44-DSB-E2, second the learn button of the EnOcean device.

The P44-DSB-E2 has a built-in EnOcean radio module (TCM310) to receive data from EnOcean buttons and sensors and transmit commands to EnOcean actuators like heating valves. The P44-DSB-E2 firmware automatically detects the EnOcean device's EEP (enocean equipment profile) to integrate different types of devices into the digitalSTROM system. For example, climate related sensors and actuators will appear as blue climate digitalSTROM blocks, buttons act as light switches by default but can be used for other functions as well.

Compatible EnOcean devices are available from a wide variety of manufacturers such as Eltako, Thermokon, alphaEOS, Kieback&Peter and many more

hue - colorful LED lights, wirelessly controlled

"hue" lights are colored LED lights from Philips, which can be wirelessly controlled via smartphone apps and third party software

P44-DSB-E2 makes hue lights become part of your digitalSTROM light scenes. Create your multi-colored light scenes, then recall them by simply pressing the light switch.

The P44-DSB-E2 automatically detects and connects to the "hue" bridge by press of a button. Once connected, all hue lights appear as digitalSTROM light (yellow) devices. All normal hue functionality remains unaffected, you can still control the lights via hue mobile app, the hue cloud and third party apps. The monochrome hue "lux" lights are also supported.

Open Source - the basis of P44-DSB-E2

P44-DSB-E2 is based on plan44.ch's "vdcd" virtual device connector daemon open source project, and the LEDE embedded Linux platform. Being based on open source, the P44-DSB-E2 allows third parties to contribute features and build their own versions for experiments and support of new hardware. "vdcd" is not restricted to run on the P44-DSB-E2 but can be used on different platforms.

However, only buying the P44-DSB-E2 product from plan44.ch entitles you to get ready to use firmware updates from plan44.ch.
