Certified matter bridge in firmware 2.8.3, P44-GW-MW now available, new beta
With the new firmware version 2.8.3, the P44 devices now include an officially certified Matter 1.4 bridge. The Wiser-by-Feller Gateway P44-GW-MW is now also available from Otto Fischer AG. And the next beta firmware already offers a glimpse of new features: Matter controller + DMX.
In June, the official Matter certification of the p44mbrd Matter bridge was successfully completed in collaboration with Becker Antriebe. The P44 devices are now recognised as official Matter components. This means that even those controller systems which had previously rejected the beta version as uncertified now accept the P44 bridge.
With the update to firmware 2.8.3, all P44 devices automatically receive the necessary certificate as soon as the Matter Bridge is switched on. This does not affect the operation of systems that were already connected to the beta version; these will simply continue to run as before.
The certified Matter Bridge is also a key component of the new Wiser by Feller gateway P44-GW-MW, which is now available from stock at Otto Fischer AG or via the plan44 online shop.
Furthermore, the new generation of Digital Strom Bridges, the P44-DSB-D and P44-DSB-DEH2, is now available.
New beta firmware
The matter Bridge enables DALI, EnOcean, Digital Strom, script-based and other devices present in the P44 gateway to be controlled by matter controller systems. On the other hand, there are also matter Accessories (sensors, switching relays, etc.) that could complement an existing Digital Strom / P44 system. To do this, the P44 gateways would also need to act as matter controllers themselves. Anyone interested in this should take a look at the current beta version...
And finally, another bonus feature of the current beta: sometimes parts of a fixed installation need to be integrated into an event – with a few lines of scripting, lights can now be made DMX-compatible (Artnet/sACN).
